Sven J. Daam finished his Medical School in 1999 at the VU University in Amsterdam. He travelled the world for six years as a naval doctor, after which he specialized in General Medical Practice at the Leiden University, The Netherlands.
The charm of the seas and the people working with it continued to fascinate him, which led to his interest in offshore and mining.
Sven Daam also works as a volunteer at Medical Checks for Children, an organization that provides medical care to children in schools and orphanages in developing countries.
Fred van Heel studied medicine at the University of Leiden. After graduating in 1991, he specialised in Tropical Medicine and worked for years in Yemen and Zambia.
After his return to the Netherlands he found the exciting international aspect of medicine in his work as a doctor in the Port of Rotterdam. Meanwhile he has been working for over 20 years in the maritime industry and is well acquainted with all the challenges within this industry.
